INSECTA XXL – STILL LIFE

INSECTA XXL, progetto finanziato dall’assessorato all’Ambiente, Parchi e Aree Protette e patrocinato dalla Regione Piemonte ha avuto come esito una mostra fotografica della durata di 4 mesi presso il Museo di Scienze Naturali di Torino. Il titolo della mostra racchiudeva in se l’obbiettivo di ritrarre degli insetti astraendoli dal loro contesto naturale, per esaltarne la naturale bellezza, più simili ad oggetti di design che a soggetti naturalistici. Il tutto cercando il maggior dettaglio possibile per portare questi nostri piccoli amici letteralmente in un’altra dimensione. Infatti le fotografie in mostra avevano delle dimensioni che oscillavano da un minimo di 50×70 cm a tavole di 1×3 m o 2mx2m.
Le immagini sono state realizzate con una tecnica molto particolare che ha consentito il raggiungimento di una definizione elevatissima, tale da consentire ingrandimenti notevoli senza perdita di dettaglio.

Nel 2008 ho conseguito, con tale progetto, il 2° premio nazionale al Premiofotografico.org indetto da TAU visual, Associazione nazionale fotografi professionisti Italiani, nella categoria Arte.
Alcune immagini sono state inserite nel catalogo Visionnaire 2009.

INSECTA XXL, a project funded by the Department of the Environment, Parks and Protected Areas and sponsored by the Piedmont Region, resulted in a 4-month photographic exhibition at the Museum of Natural Sciences in Turin. The title of the exhibition contained within itself the objective of portraying insects by abstracting them from their natural context, to enhance their natural beauty, more similar to design objects than to naturalistic subjects. All looking for the greatest detail possible to bring these little friends of ours literally to another dimension. In fact, the photographs on display had dimensions that ranged from a minimum of 50×70 cm to tables of 1×3 m or 2mx2m.
The images were made with a very particular technique that allowed the achievement of a very high definition, such as to allow significant enlargements without loss of detail.

In 2008 I obtained, with this project, the 2nd national prize at Premiofotografico.org organized by TAU visual, the National Association of Italian professional photographers, in the Art category.
Some images have been included in the Visionnaire 2009 catalog.
